Holidays at the Historic Denver
City and County Building

Blazen Illuminations is proud to continue the ongoing tradition of Holidays at the Historic Denver City and County Building. For over 15 years Blazen Illuminations has devoted itself to spreading holiday joy through the unique sights and sounds you will see during one of their amazing shows.

Holidays at the Historic Denver City and County Building

In 2010, Blazen Illuminations took on the incredible responsibility of lighting the historic Denver City and County Building. Since taking over, Nate and Heidi Webb have introduced synchronized lighting shows and entertainment.

From events like “Big Air” in 2011 to “Taste of Colorado” and “Independence Eve,” hosted on July 3rd every year, this year-round attraction brings festivals and people from all over the globe together. However, none are as recognizable as the Holiday season at Denver City and County Building.

Each Holiday season the building gets decorated with classic Christmas decorations from the early 1900s. Blazen Illuminations is tasked with restoring and maintaining each piece throughout the year so that they continue to shine brightly. Each piece is delicately placed across the building from the candy canes to the nutcrackers. A noteworthy element is the last remaining Manger Scene left on a government building.

Beginning 10 months before the next holiday season, work on the next Christmas spectacular begins. Our in-house production team visualizes the unique story for the year and begins production on the music and visual effects you will see. From start to finish, each year is a labor of love and compassion.

Guests of all ages have been enjoying this show for 12 years now, and this 90-year-old holiday tradition is now rooted in Denver’s history. Blazen Illuminations hopes to continue this for many years to come and hopefully inspire new generations to keep the magic of the holiday season alive.
